Why you need it

NinjaTrader's built-in replay download is one instrument, one day, one click — building a useful replay library that way is an evening of clicking for a week of data. DS Bulk Replay Downloader takes a list of instruments and a date range and fetches all of it unattended, showing a per-file progress list and telling you exactly what it got and what it didn't.

How a run works

This queues the whole job and shows a per-file progress list while it runs.

What NinjaTrader's replay servers carry

It downloads NinjaTrader's own Market Replay files: roughly the last 90 days, for the instruments NinjaTrader serves. Futures days follow the front-month contract by default.

What it reads

No chart data of its own: it queues NinjaTrader's Market Replay (.nrd) download per instrument and day.

NinjaTrader 8 · 8.1.8.1 or newer. Everything runs on your machine, on your own data feed.

Good to know

It supplies no data of its own and bypasses no platform limit — it only automates NinjaTrader's own download, in bulk.

Replay a session you have already seen
Market Replay runs a past session back tick by tick, at whatever speed you like. You get to watch DS Bulk Replay Downloader print in conditions you remember, and pause on the bars where it mattered.

Then trade it forward, on the simulator
Replay shows you the past with the ending already known. The simulator does not — it runs live, in real time, on real prices, with nothing at stake. That is where you find out whether you can actually act on what you are seeing.

A simulated fill is not a live fill. Replay and the simulator cannot reproduce real queue position, slippage, or what it feels like to hold a position with money on it, and results from either may differ materially from live trading. Test to learn how a tool behaves — not to estimate what it might return.
